CPCS Plant Training

First launched in 2003, the CPCS (Construction Plant Competence Scheme) is a widely recognised skills card scheme which helps employers in the plant sector of the construction industry to comply with certain codes of practice.

There are two types of operator card which grant entry into the scheme:

Trained Operator (red) Card
Competent Operator (blue) Card

CPCS Training or assessments for experienced workers can be carried out by Instructors who have gained instructor status the required CPCS Plant Training standard. Training or assessments can be delivered to cover Forklift Trucks, Excavators, Ride on Rollers, Forward Tipping Dumpers, Slinger Signaller, Lorry Loaders and most other categories of plant.

Forklift Training - On site

Minster Studies Ltd can offer a wide range of forklift truck training, counterbalance, reach and many others. Our instructors are CITB, NPORS registered; this ensures trainees will receive training to the highest standard which is set by the Health & Safety Executive and Approved Code of Practice.

1 Day Refresher Course

This one day course is aimed at those who have gained a good level of training or have been certified, but require refresher course. The course is mainly practical based and is ideal for those that have experienced a change in job role or a required to operate a new fork lift truck.

Intermediate level 2-3 Day Basic Course

Structured in line with the Approved Code of Practice (ACOPS) recommendations, this course it aimed at those with extensive experience in forklift operation. The course itself is a mixture of both theory and practical work, the candidate will be evaluated with a test on the end of the course.

3-5 Day Course for Novices

This course (conforming to CITB and NPORS requirements) is designed for novice operators and focuses on the safety of use and efficient truck handling. This course is ideal for those with little or no previous experience and is a mixture of theory and practical based work.

Testing & Certification

After completion of a theory and practical test, successful candidates will receive an approved operator’s certificate and I.D card.
